Subtropolis returns with "Protect From Light." A new album of future-garage/trash-prog. Pop songs excavated from the heavy mud of krautrock repetition. The shifting time signatures of the duo's 2018 release "Automatic Touchless" have now mutated into an endless, industrial churn on "Protect From Light." The new album’s increased sonic clarity provides more questions than answers. The light has not killed the darkness but only enhanced it by contrast.
